We the people of this country have the right to have shelter, affordability, and tranquility in housing benefits and affording housing. By this it will make the country better for everyone and try to get the citizens of the United States of America to achieve the goal of buying housing and affording housing.
Section 1.
Many Americans in the United States don’t have their own house and don’t own housing because of how much the cost of housing is. Statistically right now 35% of the American population does not own their own homes. Some of the reasons why is because most of the houses right now are not affordable and housing prices are going up every year. The average home price in the country to this day is $348,079 dollars. But 20% of homes are mostly getting sold for more than $500,000 dollars or higher, which is a lot of money for a house. Now for some states the housing prices are low but, for some other states it's going to be higher pricing. For example, the most affordable place to get a house in the United States is West Virginia because there is a lower population there and the tax base is lower than other states across the country. Like the most expensive housing in the country is California because of its mass population and its high tax base that the housing is relatively expensive than other states. In Arizona the average home price is $416,486 dollars.
Section 2.
Throughout the years housing has been increasing with prices. Between 2007-2009 the housing market plummeted by 3% to 5% percent. These percentages showed by the housing prices increasing many people can’t afford it and won’t buy any houses any time soon. Now during the 2020 pandemic the increase of prices for houses astonishly increased by 29% which is a high number. But many people are also not buying houses because people's salaries are not enough for a house which is difficult for everyone. They are also not buying houses because there is a lot of construction on new houses which are why houses are expensive nowadays. The newer the house the more expensive it is.
Section 3.
How to help with this situation is lowering housing prices to make them more reasonable. By cutting down pricing in housing it will allow more people to get a house and it will let more people to have homes. Which will lower homelessness because when people move out from their homes and go to new ones it will let new people have new homes and it will be a cycle. With landlords its also an issue because they raise how much money is rent. But they can only raise the rent with every new lease up for renewal. If they raise the prices higher before the lease is up for renewal the HUD which is the Department of Housing and Urban Development comes to play which is an organization that helps with complaints of housing and discrimination. There are many more organizations that relate to the housing issues and resolve them in that topic. But overall having housing laws so that everyone could have one economically.
